Tornedalen is the border area between Sweden and Finland in the very northern part of Scandinavia. My relatives have a couple of houses at the riverside of Torne river, just north of Pello. It is some 30 km north of the Polar circle.
Above a view over the Torne river in midnight sun. To the left and below Uncle Uno´s house from outside and inside including a pot of cloudberry jam. To the very right it´s family Ljung picking cloudberries - yes, that´s Zeb under the moscito net!

This house belongs to Anders and Torbjörn, also uncles of Toby. To the very right is the sauna, a few steps away from the river.

This is the “Ristenkallio” cliff which has given the name to this place. Ristenkallio means “cross rock” and refers to the cross formed crack well visible for boats traveling on the river.

Uncle Uno, king of Ristenkallio, rows the virgin tour with the new boat. Below a “Harr”, the most usual fish in the river, a reindear and a “Hermelin”.
